——
God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.
Therefore, we will not fear, even though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea.
Though its waters roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with its swelling, there’s a river whose streams shall make glad the City of God, the holy place of the Tabernacle of the Most High.
God is in the midst of her.
She shall not be moved.
God shall help her just at the break of dawn.
The nations raged, the kingdoms were moved.
He uttered his voice.
The earth melted.
The Lord of Hosts is with us.
The God of Jacob is our refuge.
Come behold the works of the Lord who has made desolations in the Earth.
He makes wars cease to the ends of the Earth.
He breaks the bough and cuts the spear in two.
He burns the chariot in fire.
Be still and know that I am God.
I will be exalted among the nations.
I will be exalted in the Earths.
The Lord of Hosts is with us.
The God of Jacob is our refuge.
Nice!
The 9/11 attacks where orchestrated by muslims with an agenda. As a muslim, Mr. Obama should call to his fellow muslims, and I’m referring to the main stream – moderate muslims, to unequivocally denounce terror and make it clear that it’s unacceptable under any circumstances.
Very moving and touching reading of our holy tehillim. thank you Mr. President.
And Obama doesn’t care about the 9/11 victims and their families- he changed 9/11 from a national holiday to “National Grandparents Day”. Trying to rewrite history for his anti-American friends? Trying to make us all forget? Never!!!
Very nice of the president…but.
(According to attorney Nathan Lewin.) When President Obama was electioneering, in Iowa, for votes to become president, he criticized companies for not treating workers properly even BEFORE Agriprocessors/Rubashkin had their ‘day in court.’ (And the president is a case lawyer!)
As we all know, all the worker abuse claims were thrown out in a second court case.
So we see the president is an opportunist.
(President Obama…you can’t fool G-d.)
Big deal! He can blame all the nice things he says on King David. How he gets away invoking the name of G-d while cavorting with any terrorist he can (except those his advisors block from him) is contradictory. That very same G-d of Jacob and L-rd of Hosts also commanded all of us (including non-Jews who are to follow the Noahide Laws) to refrain from stealing. He committed the greatest heist of all time with his stimulus package. he stole jobs from many thousands of Americans, he will steal their health when his NObamacare starts, and he will slick his hands into our pockets with tax raises anywhere he can. How blasphemous! He said lots of nice things, but none were his own remarks. Can’t wait to see him leave the White House in 2012.
I am grateful to the President for reading one of our sacred tehillim, and a particularly Jewish one.
You guys need to relax big time…..he’s our president and as our president we should have a bit respect for the man, if you like him or not that’s your choice and that’s why presidents are given only a 4 year term so for the people by the people can vote for whom you like….I bet you all voted for hope and are now very disapointed….poor you! You put your faith in a person and not in Hashem???
when everything is said and done all good things come from our Torah. the verse in front of the u.n. and the birkas Kohanim in the vatican, etc. it’s a shame they just pay it lip service but don’t follow thru. in america we have a medina shel chessed and some higher-up should personnaly thank obama’s advisors for choosing these meaningful words from Psalms.
