Other officers discovered him before dawn Wednesday at a subway station near his Bronx home. He’s hospitalized with minor injuries.
Two people familiar with the probe say the officer testified last week before a grand jury investigating the possible misconduct. They spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because the proceedings are secret and haven’t been completed.
Prosecutors suspect the officers arranged for traffic tickets to be torn up before the cases reached court as favors or possibly in exchange for bribes.
Police union officials have criticized prosecutors for turning allegations of ticket fixing into a criminal matter.
The NYPD hasn’t commented.
Great, let this investigation continue forever, and we can catch a breath of the ticket frenzy
What a terrible thing to say, particularly at this time of the year. Have you no rachmonis for the man who is so terribly depressed (meaning ill) that he tried to commit suicide?
All you care about is that you may get fewer parking tickets. You know what, if you plug the meters on time you won’t get tickets. I think you seriously need to do some teshuva.
