Kent County Sheriff’s Sgt. Glenn Owens said Wednesday that the truck with the gasoline was found in Philadelphia, but no other details were immediately available.
The FBI assisted with the search for the Alger Oil truck that was stolen from Maryland’s Eastern Shore late Monday or early Tuesday. Though the investigation did not point to terrorism, Owens said initially that a possible threat linked to the 9/11 anniversary and the proximity to Washington prompted authorities to take precautions.
Alger services the upper Eastern Shore and Harford County in Maryland, northern Delaware and southern Pennsylvania.
