Ministry spokesman Paul Hirschson would not give details of the conversation Friday.
Prime Minister Essam Sharaf told Turkish TV on Thursday that the treaty “is not sacred. … It can be revised.”
The comments were carried on Egyptian TV.
Israel has been concerned about the fate of the treaty ever since Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak was toppled in February. Mubarak steadfastly upheld the treaty, even though popular sentiment in Egypt is hostile to Israel.
Israelis were unnerved by a riot at the Israeli Embassy in Cairo a week ago.
And we all have obama to thank for allowing mubarak to be taken out, against Israel’s will. Now Israel reaps the rotten fruit of his efforts.
It is a shame that Egypt who seemed to enjoy the peace and seemed to value life would change their ways and thought processes. They have gained much through their peace treaty with Israel. They have gained wealth, health and prosperity. It was a win/win situation all around. What will they do without peace with Israel. Sell their oil and natural resources to their Arab brothers? What will they do trade Oil to each other? Bury their dead together? Now that sounds like a plan.
Maybe they should start asking the women of the country how many of their sons they are willing to sacrifice after all these years of peace and prosperity? Not to mention wealth and tourism.
look at the t-shirt the guy in the photo is wearing. A mass murderer!
Sure it can be revised. It can be revoked too. And Israel can reoccupy the Sinai as well.
