New York, NY – There’s a new hero coming to town — a remote-controlled device that lets firefighters in high-rise blazes pour water on flames from the safety of another floor.

The lightweight pipe system can be attached to a windowsill on the floor beneath the source of the fire, and then telescope upward so large amounts of water can be dumped directly onto the flames. Firefighters directing the nozzle with a remote control from the floor below.
Each device costs $62,000, the manufacturer said.
