Military Officials Confirm to VIN A flare dropped by an F-16 during a training mission cause of fire.
Egg Harbor Township, NJ – The New Jersey Forest Fire Service reports that an out-of-control wildfire blaze has thousands of acres on fire right now. Roads are being closed and homes are presently in danger.
The New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection says that at least 2,500 acres are currently burning.
Routes 539 and 72 are already closed. Firefighters are trying to set up a fire line on 72 as part of efforts to stop the blaze. Numerous evacuations are underway of the surrounding towns.

This is about 15-20 miles south of Lakewood.
