    Little egg Harbor Twp., NJ – The forest fire that began Tuesday afternoon has grown to 18,000 acres in Ocean and Burlington counties this morning, and officials were hoping that an afternoon storm would bring rain to the area.

    The fire is about 10 percent contained and there have been no further evacuations.

    About 30 percent of the forest fire burning in Ocean and Burlington counties is now contained, State police said.

    Heavy blowing smoke from the Warren Grove wildfire has forced authorities to shut down the Garden State Parkway from exit 58 to exit 63.

    Route 72, which had been open this morning, is now closed again westbound from the Parkway. Route 539 remains shut.

    Manahawkin, NJ – M/A ALS and BLS are responding to the Southren Ocean Hospital to assist in the evacuation of the hospital due to the threatening fire.

    Fire officials are redoubling efforts as increased winds have kicked up the Warren Grove wildfire. The wind is now gusting over 30 mph.
