New York – Cheney: Obama Owes Apology For Security Criticism Of Bush Administration

    10

New York – Former Vice President Dick Cheney praised the Obama administration Sunday for using a drone strike to kill American-born Muslim cleric Anwar al-Awlaki, but said President Barack Obama should now apologize for criticizing former President George W. Bush’s actions against suspected terrorists.

Al-Awlaki — an American whose fluency in English and technology made him one of the top terrorist recruiters in the world — was killed Friday in Yemen, according to U.S. and Yemeni government officials.

The strike also killed Samir Khan, an American of Pakistani origin, and two others who were in the same vehicle as al-Awlaki, said the U.S. official, who was briefed by the CIA. Khan specialized in computer programming for al Qaeda and authored the terror network’s online magazine, Inspire.

“I think it was a very good strike. I think it was justified,” Cheney told CNN’s Candy Crowley on “State of the Union.” But “I’m waiting for the administration to go back and correct something they said two years ago when they criticized us for ‘overreacting’ to the events of 9/11.”

Obama “in effect said that we had walked away from (America’s) ideals,” Cheney argued. “I think he did tremendous damage. I think he slandered the nation and I think he owes an apology to the American people.”

The Obama administration has “clearly … moved in the direction of taking robust action when they feel it is justified,” Cheney said.

Obama was very nieve at the time he criticized Bush’s policies, being that he was so inexperienced. It took time for him to realize that things are different than what he imagined.

Is Cheney going senile? Sadly, no… he is just being the fat liar and fraud he has always been.

Cheney believed that to take down a dictator you had to destroy a country and make the entire nation kneel at our feet (or throw roses at our feet, as he claimed they would). This strategy has NEVER worked. All it has ever done is tripled defense spending, primarily to companies like his precious Haliburton.

Obama campaigned on changing the strategy and using precise, targeted attacks that relied on intelligence and precision weapons. So, in 8 years the Bush/Cheney plan yielded practically no terrorist leaders. Obama’s plan has been working FAR better.

I have no intention of voting for Obama, but at least give the guy credit where due. Cheney is a PROVEN liar and fraud whose policies helped put this nation in bankruptcy. Now he thinks he can rewrite history as if the American majority could really be THAT stupid…. Then again…. there are hundreds of thousands who think Palin and Bachmann would make good Presidents…. maybe there is a big enough chunk of this country that is that stupid… how sad.

It’s shameful to see Jews fall for such revisionist propaganda!

    Dick Cheney is unreal! >[:-P

I’m proud of our President! He has kept this country the safest it’s been in a while now, when it comes to terror . All agencies (FBI, CIA, Homeland Security, etc.), are highly connected in ways that the Bush Administration had started… but that the Obama Administration has *perfected*.

I’ve read countless articles about how efficient & ON POINT our President has been when it’s come to foreign affairs, despite the fact that his detractors are CONSTANTLY belching out nonsense about him “not being a leader” & blah, etc. blah. (lol)

Well I’m sick of it & I know other progressives are too! We’re sick & tired of the mantra that Democratic Presidents don’t keep this country safe, and\or that President Obama isn’t strong on terror or a friend enough to Israel!

He certainly has no problems taking out some of Israel’s worst of the worst enemies around the globe! That’s for sure! (lol)

I feel safe with him as President & I hope he continues to toughen up on domestic issues here at home too, quite frankly!

I voted for a *Democrat* after all!

    President Obama 2012!!!

That’s right! I said it! I don’t care how many virtual tomatoes get thrown at me! (lol)
