British Foreign Secretary William Hague called Livni last week, on the eve of Rosh Hashanah, and invited her to visit the UK. On Sunday, she said that she has accepted the invitation.

The news came two weeks after British legislators amended the law that allowed arrest warrants to be issued against Israeli officials, making Livni’s trip possible.

British Ambassador to Israel Matthew Gould announced the alteration to the law last month, saying that it “will ensure that people cannot be detained when there is no realistic chance of prosecution.” He broke the news to Livni in a phone call, reportedly telling her that “London is waiting.”

The warrant for Livni was issued in December 2009 due to alleged war crimes committed during Operation Cast Lead, when she served as foreign minister.

At least she has the respect of the UK and other European leaders, even though they strongly disagree with her policy positions. The current foreign minister, Lieberman, is not only strongly disliked, but he is the subject of universal ridicule and disrepect, even among those Europeans who are supporters of EY. Other than coalition politics, I don’t understand how Netanyahu allows such an incompetent and loud mouthed hack to represent the country overseas.

Do everyone a favor, and keep her there. Those that were accomplices to the expulsion from Gaza really need to be put on trial already.

This is all nothing compared to the big test which is: will they remove the ban on Michel Savage from entering GB. As long as Savage is banned, I’m stil convinced that the UK has been hijacked by the radical left.

I have to agree with #1 . I think Tzipi Livni would do well as FM with Netanyahu as PM, although she was terrible under Olmert.
