Palin said in a statement that she and her husband Todd “devote ourselves to God, family and country.” She said her decision maintains that order.

Palin was the 2008 GOP nominee for vice president. She often hinted that she might run for president in 2012 but never committed herself.

Her announcement came one day after New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie said he would not run. Republican insiders say the field is set. It includes former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney and Texas Gov. Rick Perry.

Unlike Christie in NJ, Palin had no shot…She acts and presents herself as though this is her own decision, but that’s just her huge ego-she really lacks substance. If your entire platform is putting down the current leader, people will catch on that you have no real track record of what you ARE going to bring to the table-putting down Obama will only take you so far.

Glad to hear. Maybe her media profile will go down to a tolerable level now. Thanks.

Azoy…one fewer clown in the circus parade. I was actually hoping she would join the others since she has a unique way of making a fool of herself and adds some color to the debate. Its actually bad news for Obama since it makes Romney look more and more like the ultimate candidate and he is the one Republican who might actually give Obama a serious challenge. Anyway, goodbye Sarah, we miss you NOT.

She will be missed since she added humor to a boring campaign.

Liberalism is sickening. It takes a lowlife to cheer the demise of a political opponent. Especially a woman who lovingly cares for a child with mental retardation whom she chose life for when many if not most would terminate the life during pregnancy… I admire her for that more than any accomplishment of my own. I don’t know if she would make a fine president, because I hadn’t analyzed her adequately, but even if I though she would be awful, why would I sadistically mock her once she withdraws? Doesn’t she have a family? How many times did Obama tell us that we should respect his family’s privacy? A week ago a jerk, the types of the above commenters, yelled an awful insult at Palin’s daughter. I guess the libs can shep nachas from their crass insensitivity that they routinely display.
