New York, NY – Just the thought of eating at a C-rated restaurant leaves New Yorkers with a bad taste in their mouths, a new survey says.

Only 1% of the 41,000 people interviewed for the latest Zagat restaurant guide said they would dine at a C-rated eatery.
“I wouldn’t go to a C restaurant at all,” said Sandy Ramos, 42, of Kew Gardens, Queens. “I just think of dirt, so I won’t even think about the food.”
One-third of the respondents, about 14,000 snooty foodies, said they eat only at A-rated joints, while half said they will eat anywhere that garners a B or better.
As of last night, 2,000 restaurants had C’s. Not all C-rated restaurants are dives.
The survey results were part of Zagat’s 2012 guidebook.
why is this even news? who want to eat in a dirty place?
I also wouldnt eat at so called ‘grade pending’. which in other words, they couldve gotten a C or F but are trying to appeal.
I wouldnt eat where there is a B hanging on the door…
I am so glad NY has finally started the ABC system for restaurant health grades. Other states do not have the “grade pending” sign though. They should be forced to put up their old grade until a new grade has been found. How do I know if they have a D place or a B that is up on appeal? Or that they just don’t have a grade yet? And there should be heavy fines for not having a sign up. Ask your local place what grade they got.
Its about time that we should abserve were we are eating, Especialy if they sell fish which could be very dangers.
