Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement, begins at sundown Friday.

Engine Six is located next to the temple — whose formal name is The Wall Street Synagogue.

Rabbi Meyer Hager says it’s part of a community “deeply affected” by 9/11.

The Kol Nidrei (kohl NEE’-dray) Yom Kippur services will include the lighting of special memorial candles.

On Yom Kippur, worshippers ask God to pardon their sins and promise to live better lives in the coming year.

This will also be a good time to remember all of the first responders and civilians who who murdered on 9-11-2001. We should also remember the three Jewish firemen who were among the 343 FDNY members who perrished that day…. David Weiss, Alan Feinberg and Stephen Belson.

We should also give recogntion to the Hatzalah paramedics, as they hardly received any recognition in the mass media, for their heroic exploits on that day, in helping everybody.
