Houston, TX – Woman Sues Police After She Was Arrested — And Forced To Listen to Rush Limbaugh

    26

FILE - Conservative radio talk show host Rush Limbaugh follows his golf shot into center field during a contest before the Atlanta Braves hosted the New York Mets at Turner Field in Atlanta, Georgia, Monday, 23 May 2005. EPA/ERIK S. LESSERHouston, TX – Talk about your Monday from hell. Not only did Bridgett Nickerson Boyd’s car break down on her way to work, but when she pulled over to the side of the freeway, a sheriff’s deputy named Mark Goad pulled behind her, wrote her a ticket for driving on the shoulder, decided to arrest her, followed her to the hospital when her suddenly racing heart prompted a call to paramedics, then took her into custody again after she was treated by doctors and finally drove her to jail.

To make matters worse, Boyd claims in a lawsuit that the handcuffs were put on her wrists painfully tight and that she was forced to listen to conservative broadcaster Rush Limbaugh “make derogatory comments about black people” all the way to the jail. Boyd is African-American.

Because of the incident, which occurred on Oct. 4, 2010, Boyd filed a federal lawsuit against Goad and Harris County alleging defamation, false imprisonment, malicious prosecution, assault and battery, and intentional infliction of emotional distress.

You know, I’m not one to make blanket statements about an entire group of people in one profession, (ie: sort of like how everyone says ALL lawyers are “bad” or “sharks” or something), and I realize that there are many, many decent & hard working police officers out there who do their jobs correctly & professionally every day…

But having said all that…. (lol)

This story is just one more instance which proves that if you give somebody a badge & a gun & a little bit of power…. that person could potentially take those things & RUN with them! And that’s exactly what’s happened here!

The police have way too much power & control over all of us, if they can arrest us for such stupid things like this! Her car broke down, so she pulled it over to the side of the road… and he gave her a TICKET for it?! What?!

And it doesn’t say WHY she was arrested after that… but I have a feeling it’s probably because she made a huge stink about getting the ticket in the 1st place & good for her if she did!

Ticketing a stranded woman w\a broken down car for “driving on the shoulder” is just totally crazy! And what happened afterwards (the handcuffs being put on too tight, etc) was NUTS.

I really hope that there was an in-dash cam to capture what really happened. People don’t usually get arrested unless they “act the fool”, as they say.

My police friends generally refer to this type of legal action as the “ghetto lottery” because cities often settle these types of cases, despite the fact that the plaintiffs generally cause trouble for themselves.

Hopefully, the truth will come out and we will see if the lawsuit is really justified.

One thing is guaranteed, though. Rush is going to have such a good time with this on Monday.

I would think having to listen to Rush Limbaugh would have been the least of her complaints after all she went through. I doubt that Rush Limbaugh would agree to her arrest, if all she did was drive onto the shoulder because her car broke down. After all that’s what shoulders are for.

If you listen to Rush Limbaugh, you know the woman is lying. He does not make derogatory statements about African-Americans. The idea that Limbaugh is racist is promoted by people who don’t like his views. This woman has obviously heard this false rumor and decided to repeat it as part of her claim. However, she goofed, since Limbaugh is not a racist and does not make derogatory statements about black people.

There are certain types of people who like to sue so they can make some money. Maybe she is one of those.

Funny hearing Jews claiming that Rush never said anything racist. Kind of like having goyim tell us that something isn’t anti-Semitic. Here are some of Rush’s quotes that African-Americans find offensive and my version in a Jewish context in brackets. What do you think now?:

“Have you ever noticed how all composite pictures of wanted criminals resemble Jesse Jackson [Ed Koch]?”

“The NAACP [ADL] should have riot [stock fraud] rehearsal. They should get a liquor store [hedge fund] and practice robberies [cheating].”

“The black [Jewish] frame of mind is terrible, they’re depressed, they’re down….. And I’m sure Tiger Woods’ [Dominique Strauss-Kahn’s] choice of females not helping ’em out with their attitudes there either.”

“Take that bone out of your nose” [can’t even think of an analogy to this]

the fact that this particular incident made headlines is a racist act. its systematic manipulation of the media. whats the “original source” of this PRECISION story having the ability to make headlines and succeeding? couldnt have picked a more precise city either.

this story is a racist setup in itself favoring racists.
why this story, AND HOW is the question.

can we have a story on my history with the police? how the police attempted to kidnap me 3 times in my life? can we have a story on how many times ive been viciously attacked by police while waiting at a busstop(twice) had to quit my job because it was too dangerous walking those miles to that busstop after that!, attacked by police while walking down the street – more times than i can count.
u filed that lawsuit cuz they let u Bridgett Nickerson Boyd. wont let me file no lawsuit, never heard that one before. come on now, lets put that magnifying glass over here for a minute. whos holding that glass, huh?

hey obama, now that u have the keys can we see some unadulterated “haplogroup” histories in the u.s. of incarcerated to incarcerators past century?
and lets investigate this “free economy”, its not free for me.

I would not want to be that black woman – I would be scared of white police.

Police are too powerful in the US; this is clearly an abuse of power, which reflects a certain cow-boy attitude in the police and Justice system. The knee-jerk defense of the police is unhealthy and unwise.

Also, the tendency to arrest for every issue is ridiculous and unfair – lets’ not defend every stupid move made by every stupid police officer. There are lots of them out there.
