The posts, which were taken down from The Rant website on Friday, included the address and photographs of Detective Randy Katakofsky, 34.
The NYPD contacted the website and told the former cop who runs it to take down the posts, sources said. Cops also went to Katakofsky’s home to make sure his safety hadn’t been compromised.
One of the posts said that Katakofsky should kill himself. There were also photos of him as a volunteer firefighter and with his softball team.
Katakofsky uncovered the summons case while investigating an officer who was suspected of having ties to a drug dealer, sources said.
A narrowly focused investigation grew into a larger probe after the cop was heard on wiretaps talking about fixing tickets.
Kudos to this detective! Unfortunately it looks as though things are about to get really ugly!
If I was Katakofsky, I would move to the West Coast and have plastic surgery to change my appearance.
So the faceless cowards on Thee RANT are at it again, threatening anybody who dears point out how corrupt they are?
Why doesn’t this shock me?
I’m kinda glad it made it to the news. Perhaps one day some cooler heads in the puzzlepalace will realize that these lowlifes aren’t fit to be cops.
How such prejudiced bigots are supposed to police and “serve” the people they so despise (and ridicule) is beyond me.
sounds like a story from a movie or so. Internal affairs, Serpico, The negotiator. Or the good cop bad cop story from Copland, 13 blocks, Assault on Precinct 13, The gauntlet, Magnum force etc. this ain’t for real???
