The Ohio man who became famous during the 2008 presidential campaign has filed paperwork to run for Congress.
Samuel “Joe” Wurzelbacher’s (WUR’-zuhl-bahk-kuhr) statement of candidacy filed with the Federal Elections Commission last week says he intends to run as a Republican in Ohio’s ninth U.S. House district.
The seat is held by Marcy Kaptur, the longest serving Democratic woman in the House.
Wurzelbacher rose out of obscurity in 2008 after questioning then-candidate Barack Obama about economic policies. That led Obama’s opponent, Republican Sen. John McCain, to repeatedly cite “Joe the Plumber” in a debate.
The filing means a campaign committee can raise and spend funds on Wurzelbacher’s behalf. Republicans in northern Ohio said this summer they were recruiting Wurzelbacher to run.

Let me get this straight: This uneducated, plumber whose whole story was a lie, now wants to be a member of Congress? What will he do? He wanted to own a plumbing business, but didn’t even have the intelligence to pass the certification.
Count this as another win in the D column.
America’s idiot-class (who brought dummies like Sarah Palin and Michelle Bachmann to the top of the pecking order) are destroying this country. As one of my heroes William F. Buckley always believed (paraphrasing) Liberalism won’t be the end of America, but anti-intellectualism could be.
The very idea that this dummy with the IQ of a bad of salad could even get a headline like this is just sad.
What happened to intellectual Conservatives? Where are the Goldwaters and Nixons and the Reagans of our time? Instead we settle for the dummies that the entertainers on TV and radio parade out for us supported by Karl Rove and Dick Armey, or we get the folks in the pockets of special interests supported by the Koch Brothers. It makes me sick.

I am not surprised he will run. Anyone with a flag on television today thinks that they have the upper hand in American Politics. Good luck brother. The world is not that interested in you and you really wont have a chance against this incumbant.
