Three high school students got picked up for being rowdy.

What they didn’t expect was the verbal assault they’d get from their arresting officer.

They were so offended and so scared; they managed to get their cell phone out of their pocket while handcuffed, and record the cop’s comments

He had no idea he was being taped.

The teens have not filed a formal complaint, but Eyewitness News brought this incident to the attention of the NYPD Tuesday.

They told Eyewitness News after what was said to them in the back of a police cruiser, they’re now terrified to say anything to cops.

They say they were subjected to hateful comments about women, immigrants and religion.

These were just a few comforting words in a familiar language to calm a frantic classmate.

“She’s crying and stuff and because we’re both Russian, I tell her in Russian to calm down and stuff and not do anything stupid,” the teen said.

Out of fear of retaliation, one teen didn’t want to be identified by name.

But he says his comments in Russian set off an officer from the 9th Precinct on a racist and hateful tirade.

NYPD Officer: “Where are you d**** from?”

    Teen: “I’m from Brooklyn.”

NYPD Officer: “Good, you should ****** stay there. What are you ***** Russian?”

    Teen: “You know what, officer.”

NYPD Officer: “No you’re Jewish. Go back to Israel, or where ever the *** you’re from..

I watched the vid and heard what the officer had to say. Perhaps he should be placed in WIlliamsburgh or at the 66 for a while and he will learn his lesson.

Lately this happens too often. It’s a results of poor training of our reg NYPD officers. Seeing an officer these days is not comforting just have to hope you won’t get ticketed or arrested for nothing. Also the cops can stand on the street or sit in their cruiser playing on a cell phone with no oversight. My boss would fire me. Bottom line they need better training Mr Bloomberg!

there are bad apples amongst the thousandths of officers

these will not be tolerated, no excuses will be given by the upper brass and will be dealt with.
maybe we can learn from that

Blame the bad guys, not the police who did their job.
“She’s crying?” She wasn’t crying a few minutes earlier. You should’ve seen her!
She committed an offence by behaving “rowdy” and was lawfully arrested. If these three behaved like that in front of your house, wouldn’t you call 911?
In her own eyes, however, “I feel like I was a bit, not careful enough when crossing the street.”
A logical thought comes to mind, did she come to NY to behave disorderly?
If so, “go back to where ever the *** you’re from.”

agree with the police officers 1000%,anyone coming to this great country and not abiding by it’s laws, should go back where they came from,
let me ask you, when you see a spanish or african immigrant arested for a crime, what is your reaction? of course it’s-hey what the hell are they doing in this country, they should be deported immediately, well the same reaction we should have even if the criminal is jewish

Lets not forget that there is only a handful of bad cops out there , most of them work very hard for their pay check to protect us …While some cops hurt the reputation for others NYPD is still NY finest and please say Hello to a cop on Yom Tov when you walk with your children on the street and teach them to be polite and friendly to the bravest who protect us 24/7

Once in awhile it is important to be reminded who we are. We have become to sure of ourselves and blame anti-semitism on anything that does not go “smoothly”. Chag Sameach L’chol Ha’ezrach B’Yisroel.

To #5 - I agree that an open mind should be kept; however, that works both ways. I have personally observed cops making ethnic remarks, not only about Yidden, but about other ethnic groups. It is part of their culture, which also includes using profanity. We need the police for safety and security. However, that does not excuse these kinds of incidents. If a prisoner or any citizen is being cooperative, it does not give any cop the right to physically, verbally, or psychologically abuse members of the public. New York’s “Finest” could be finer.
