Williamsburg, NY – NYPD officer Carlos Corporan, 23, from the 90th Precinct, nabbed a bank robber Tuesday when a dye pack exploded in the crook’s shirt pocket after a heist, police said.

Corporan, on the force for just over a year, approached the man, he spotted something bizarre: smoke pouring from the man’s shirt pocket. Suddenly, police put a description over the radio of a bandit wanted for holding up a Chase bank nearby. “It turned out he robbed a bank around the corner,” Corporan said.
The officer cuffed Terence Buckley, 47, who stole a mere $100 from the bank before the dye pack popped.
