The plan allots 2,610 units for Givat Hamatos, a Jewish neighborhood between Jerusalem and Bethlehem, about two miles (five kilometers) apart.
Erekat said Friday the plan “makes a mockery of … efforts to bring about a just and lasting peace.”
Palestinians want the West Bank and east Jerusalem as parts of their future state. They say they won’t resume peace talks until construction there is halted.
Israel says such issues should be discussed in negotiations.
Jerusalem City Councilman Meir Margalit doubted the plan will pass when it comes up for approval in 60 days. “There is no sign that a new neighborhood will be built there,” he said.
Who cares.
You get back 1,000 murderous terrorists for Shalit, we get to build 2,000 homes.
lets fill them with 20,000 jews. build!!!
Let’s build 20,000 houses and fill them with 100,000 Jewish children. The way to get at the arabs is to procreate and out populate them. Think that since the finding of the medina there has been over 3,000,000 abortions done on Jewish women. Think. really think what another 5,000,000 Jewish people would have done the on the ground. There would have never been talk of giving back land and not building. If you care about Israel show it but population growth
