    29

Abbas made the startling statement in an interview last month on Egyptian TV that was monitored, translated and posted Tuesday by the Middle East Media Research Institute.

“First of all, let me make something clear about the story of the Jewish state,” Mahmoud Abbas tells Dream2TV on Oct. 23. “They started talking to me about the Jewish state only two years ago.”

“I’ve said it before and I will say it again: I will never recognize the Jewishness of the state or a Jewish state.”

Abbas, in the same unsettling interview, also weighs in on Israeli soldier Gilad Shalit, who had been held captive for five years by Hamas militants.

He was released last month in exchange for 1,027 Palestinian prisoners.

The Palestinian leader calls the fact that they were able to hold Shalit captive in Gaza for five years “a good thing.”

“They were able to keep him and hide him,” he said.

Mr. Abbas” You flip/flop — Please make up your mind once and for all. You are not doing your own people any good!!

Their issue is a “Jewish” state versus a “secular” state. They claim that they will never recognize EY unless there are guarantees for the rights fo the Palestinians living in the West Bank and Jeruselam. They’ve always said they will recognize Israel but they feel the term “Jewish state” undercuts their demand for equal rights for non-Jewish residents.

That is why there will never be “peace”. “Peace” by force, pressure from one side or the other is not peace, but “Force”. Israel has already given up too much, Sinai, Gaza, many parts of West Bank, and the PA cannot even accept a planet with Jews in it, is why there cannot be real peace until there is a new approach from a new PA leadership willing to accept and embrace Jews living in Eretz Yisroel.

This should demonstrate once and for all that the notion of a Palestinian ‘peace process’ is a myth.

    “… startling statement …”
New York Daily News, if you consider this startling, I’ve got a bridge for sale.

Here is someone who financed the Munich massacre and whose PhD thesis is essentially about holocaust denial. There is no question that he hates Jews (and Israel). This statement is entirely in keeping with his previous behaviour pattern.
The only surprising thing is that he was recorded saying this statement.

unfortunately, his comments will be quickly forgotten because we do not know how to use the media as well as the arabs. most of the world doesn’t even realize that in latest battles we are reaponding to rocket attacks and not initiating the fighting

Which liberals still believe that this rasha can still be a “partner in negotiation”? He is interested, no less, in the destruction of Israel, and he is willing to do anything to achieve it. He has lied to every world leader and the UN about wanting peace, and he regularly, as exposed often in the right wing media, gives the opposite message openly to the Arabic speaking audiences. He is an enemy, not a friend, and he needs to meet the same bitter end as all of Israel’s enemies. And if our White House and State Department still want to befriend him, let them all join him in a final end, fondly known as a מיתה משונה.

    This really isn’t a surprise.

I highly doubt that anyone in the Israeli government would be surprised if they read this article.

I wonder if any of the “MAJOR NEWS NETWORKS” would share this information with the world.

To #16 I am neither. With one side of his mouth Mr. Abbas wants peace!! Then he changes his mind and wants something else. He never knows what he really wants!! We all know what he wants!! You cannot keep changing your mind!!

His goal has been, is, and always will be – not peace WITH Israel, but every piece OF Israel. This is the truth. Deal with it.

Abbas is like a hankercheif filled with mucus and snot. He wants to have his cake and eat it too and then he wants your cake as well.

Hamas can be trusted more than Abbas. At least with Hamas, one knows where he stands. With Abbas, his position changes with the wind.

He says the same thing as the anti-Zionist Jews.

He’ll never recognize Israel. And his “Foreign Mininster” announced Palestinian refugees would not be allowed into any Palestinian State. The man is utterly corrupt and a bad joke.

Who gives a ‘you know what’ Mr Abbas what you think or say (or recognize). Israel is a Jewish state whether you like it or not. And its time you got with the program, you are not getting East Jerusalem, end of story. My advice to you is take what you’re offered and stop running around the Arab world looking for sympathy because its not going to make a difference.

This reminds me of an episode years ago when a communication was intercepted between Arafat, Y”Sh, and (I’m pretty sure) George Habash, that Arab doctor, in which Arafat made disparaging remarks about Jews, as opposed to Israelis or Palestinians. It was around one of the times when he was the media’s darling, shaking hands with Rabin on the White House lawn. The NY Times ran the story (no, not on the front page) and members of the US government were shocked and surprised – they had no idea he was anti-Semitic.
    What a bunch of morons.
