The remarks by Shimon Peres to Israel’s channel 2 TV Friday were unusual because he is known as a dove and optimist.

Peres said world leaders need to “fulfill their promises” to stop Iran “whatever it takes.” He said, “There is a long menu as to what can be done.” He did not elaborate.

The interview comes days after Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was reported to be seeking ministers’ support for a strike against Iran.

Israel, the U.S. and other nations suspect Iran wants to develop nuclear weapons. Iran says its atomic program only has peaceful aims. Negotiations and sanctions have failed to resolve the standoff.

So let Peres be the first to do the shooting! But of course he’ll be safely protected in his lead-insulated underground bunker while the rest of the people suffer the consequences of the State’s incessant paranoia and telling the rest of the world what to do…….

Let us pray that there is no war, as thousands of civilians and soldiers on both sides will be killed. The Iranians will fire thousands of long range missiles at EY, and missiles from Lebanon will also be fired. Let us end this macho talk about first strikes. There have been many generals in EY who have been fired by Netanyahu, because they disagreed with him regarding a first strike. Also, the Mossad and the Shin Bet also disagrees with a preemptive attack on Iran. Of course, if Iran strikes first, EY will have no choice but to retaliate. However,
