State troopers are also stationed at some Parkway exit and entrance ramp toll booths to look for drivers who are not buckled up.
Major Mark Weeks, the troop commander for the Garden State Parkway, said police hope to turn that trend around with the informational letters, toll booth details and Click It or Ticket patrols.
“Our goal is to change drivers’ behavior,” he said. “What we’re interested in here is decreasing accidents and subsequently reducing fatal accidents.” [app]
