Yidden seem to only care about shuls that affect them personally. Nebech.
It was established many years ago, probably about 55 years ago with Rabbi Morris
Talansky as the rabbi. When Rabbi Talansky moved away a local Far Rockaway
native, Rabbi Judah Harris became the rabbi. The are now a group of new young
yeshiva couples that are establishing a community in Inwood, one of the Five Towns
There is a new community there, but they daven in Yeshiva Ketana and do not use that building at all. It is not currently functioning as a shul.
Once a building is no longer functioning as a shul it has no special status. I recall that when the evacuation of Gush Katif was happening some tried to claim it was assur to allow the arabs to take control of the buildings that had been shuls. The government found some big rabbonim who paskined it was ok to abandon the buildings.
It was relatively recently led by Rabbi Reuven Mann where he ran a girl’s post high school school called Masoret. Rabbi Mann has since moved to become the rav of a shul in Phoenix and as far as I know, nothing occurs in that shul anymore.
