Washington – A new national survey of Republicans indicates that it’s basically all tied up between Mitt Romney and Newt Gingrich in the race for the GOP presidential nomination, with Gingrich on the rise and businessman Herman Cain falling due to the harassment allegations he’s been facing the past two weeks.

According to a CNN/ORC International Poll released Monday, 24% of Republicans and independents who lean towards the GOP say Romney is their most likely choice for their party’s presidential nominee with Gingrich at 22%. Romney’s two-point advantage is well within the survey’s sampling error.

If the GOP gives Obama Gingrich to debate, its going to be a very simple easy debate and Mr. Obama can get coffee in between questions. This is not the way I want to see it. Gingrich is like a mold that you just can not get rid. I suppose that he thinks he is a relevant person, but as a presidental candidate, hes just trying to stay around past his due. But Hunstman on the other hand is new and has a very well versed platform as well as intelligence that will be trouble for a sharp guy like Obama. Personally I like true competition and to see someone like Huntsman go against Obama would make for very good television theatre. I can hardly wait. Is it possible that the guy in last place can make a major come back? Well, Gingrich did…. so did Cain….. Lets see what happens.

The Republican field is like a race to the bottom, all but guaranteeing an Obama victory.

Without genuine Conservatives in the race, Obama WILL win. This Republican field is exactly what the entertainment media created. By giving voice to the dumb, the ignorant and the stupid, they created a culture that is only looking for “characters” not leaders. Limbaugh, Hannity, Beck, Levin and the rest are to blame for creating these cartoon characters like Palin, Perry and Bachmann. THEY allowed a clown like Gingrich to find an audience again.

These entertainment shows had unintended consequences. These “pundits” were there to be entertainers and satirists. But, they ALSO found an audience in America’s idiots, and most ignorant who don’t realize that it is ENTERTAINMENT… a JOKE. They think that people like Mark Levin give them FACTUAL information. It is like believing that a Peanuts cartoon is real.

When Morton Downey Jr perfected the “infotainment” platform, he made sure his audience knew it was a joke. When Limbaugh succeeded him, Limbaugh took himself too seriously, and the ‘satirist’ became the prophet of the stupid.

Now, intellectualism is dying as a result. How sad!

Is seems that all of the contenders got their fair chance to be on the top besides for john huntsman. In my opinion he is far more qualified for the oval office than either Perry, Bachman, or Cain! Give the guy a chance!

Not everyone has been “on top”… Santorum, paul, bachman, johnson, and gingrich have all never been in first. Only tpaw, perry, romney, and arguably cain, who was really more tied than ahead. This Is pretty normal and I don’t understand what thje fuss is about.

Gingrich is what this country needs. It is sad that the media probably won’t allow it. I’d pay a lot to see a debate between the extremly knowladgable Gingrich and Obama who is a grea debater/speaker but no substanse. I think Gingrich would slauther him.

It is unfortunate that the USA is comprised of so many dumb people that they completely ignore Gingrich’s past ‘service’ to this country and will vote for him. Many Democrats jumped ship for Reagan, if Gingrich is the Republican nominee I’ll be jumping to Obama.

So this week its “Newt” who is voted clown of the week. With these republican right wing nutcases taking turns as the flavor de jeur for the teabaggers, Obama will be taking a victory lap in 2012.

Newt looks like an inflated Pillsbury Doughboy with a bad hairpiece.

Is this the best the Republicons can do? With all their venom and uncontrollable hatred directed towards Obama, the best they can field is a recycled Rhino, a robotic version of W, the token Black guy, and a serial philander who moonlights as a social “conservative”.

Good luck with that. Ya’ll are gonna need it.

I’m sitting here laughing at how bad its gotten for the Republicans without Obama even having to run his first campaign ad. The Republicans are forming their traditional circular firing squad. In the great tradition of Maria Schriver who vouched for Arnold Schawartznager when he was accused of infidelity in the California Republican governor’s race, John Edwards wife who vouched for him, Hillary Clinton for Bill etc. tonight it was Herman Cain’s wife offering a pathetic defense of this dreche on Fox News. Newt’s ex-wife is waiting in the wings to tell the “full story” about his efforts to coerce her into signing a divorce settlement while she was hospitalized for cancer. And then there is Perry who is suffering from early memory loss (which is contagious since Cain today couldn’t remember what “Libya” was and whether or not he agreed with Obama’s policy.
Obama should just shut up and let these idiots self-destruct and simply show up on election day to vote.
