Supreme Court Justice Michael Stallman on Tuesday denied a motion by the demonstrators seeking to be allowed back into the park with their tents and sleeping bags.

Police cleared out the protesters in a nighttime sweep early Tuesday. The judge upheld the city’s effective eviction of the protesters after an emergency appeal by the National Lawyers Guild.

The protesters have been camped out in privately owned Zuccotti Park since mid-September. Mayor Michael Bloomberg said he ordered the sweep because health and safety conditions and become “intolerable” in the crowded plaza.

Finally some common sense!! It’s about time!! the truth is though that these idiots will still continue wreaking havoc during the day thus continuing to cause losses to small businesses… So the truth is that these protests must come to a COMPLETE and TOTAL STOP!!!

    But it’s a good start i guess….

We in Montreal are having the same problem with some dimwits who are camping out in the financial district.

Of course here in Montreal, winters are brutal and so very soon they will go home or they will simply freeze to death…Oh well.

    And the plot thickens

    No Justice!

The law is not based on what makes sense, its the constitution. If they do not like the constitution as is, then amend it to rule out “occupy wall street” and in the near future “tea party” and before you know it free speech will be limited to your bedroom, like guns.

    Let freedom ring!

Its a real pity. Given that this “protest” lasted some 2 months. One must consider “does this method of protest have staying power and does it make for positive change”. Looking at the fact that they are essentially an ‘occupying force’ per se, the fact is that in the absense of the marvel of the wicked in our streets, there is no consideration for the demands of these unjust protestors. So if there is no protest and no overnight stay, does the message endure or do the evil doers fizzle out. I suppose that if you look closely at the fact that this was anarchy and not a peaceful movement of words and reason, one must conclude that these persons were in fact evil doers and of course, as all evil, it will be scattered.
Want change, work for positive changes. Do not occupy our homes and our market place and our places of commerce.

Those of us involved in the 1960s/1970s “free Soviet Jewry” movement used, among our many other tools, “hundred hour vigils” down the block from the Soviet Mission/Consulate in NYC. In the middle of winter.
A couple dozen of us would each swing by during the four or five days, dressed warmly, in good weather, bad weather, daytime, and the very cold.. middle of the night.
No tents, no sleeping bags. Sometimes a couple of chairs.
The cops actually let us burn scrap wood in a garbage can (just like the old “hobo days”) but asked us (_asked us_!,) to keep the can away from the building walls and take other basic fire safety measures.
And a fine time was had by all…

Protests should be in Washington targeting the politicians that allowed it all to happen!
If the businesses used loopholes allowed by the government, then they’re entitled to take it.
If the businesses moved manufactring overseas due to burdensome regualtions by the government and Unions, then focus the protests there.
If the economy is down due to excessive budget overruns by the government who spent taxpayers money to afford themselves luxuries the common man can’t afford, focus your protest to them.
If ONE or TWO companies on Wall Street paid excessive bonuses from bailout money to their employees, focus your complaint to Washington for allowing it to go unchecked!
    Get the facts!
    Its Washington!
And the Democratic Party that controlled both Houses for the past decade!

The protests which were held regarding freedom for Soviet Jewry, were much more orderly, than what has occurred at Wall Street. Then, people behaved like menches, and not like animals!
