Rabbi Tzvi Hersh Weinreb, the OU's executive vice president, was on a fact-finding mission to Sderot this afternoon when a warning siren sounded, forcing him and four companions to seek shelter under a table in a nearby shop. Seven seconds later, two Kassam rockets fell in the nearby field.
"I think I was too frightened to be frightened," Weinreb said from Sderot. "It happened so fast and I have so little experience with this. It didn't feel real."
Weinreb was accompanied by his wife, Chavi, two local union employees and an American yeshiva student on a day trip to the beleaguered southern city. No injuries were reported in the attack. [JTA]
