    28

The $700-per-night W Hotel Downtown last week hosted both Peter Dutro, one of a select few OWS members on the powerful finance committee, and Brad Spitzer, a California-based analyst who not only secretly took part in protests during a week-long business trip but offered shelter to protesters in his swanky platinum-card room.

“A key Occupy Wall Street leader and another protester who leads a double life as a businessman ditched fetid tents and church basements for rooms at a luxurious hotel…”

Ok, so let me get this straight: TWO of the Occupy Wall Street Movement protesters stayed in $700 a night hotels, and… somehow the entire movement is a bunch of hypocrites?!

They aren’t ALL staying in $700 hotels for pete’s sakes! Besides, I thought those who oppose the Movement, believe that rich people can spend their money however they want to?! So who CARES if they slept in tents for weeks on end & then turned around & slept in fancy hotels?!

I’m proud to see rich people standing up for **OTHERS** in the 1st place! They may be sleeping in $700 NOW… but they’ve been fighting alongside other poor & working people this entire time! So I give them props!

Despite what people think… the Occupy Wall Street Movement is NOT against people just “being rich”! That’s NOT the problem! (lol) Lots of rich people give Tzedekah & can be quite generous! Nobody cares that actors & actresses make gobs of money for example… because they don’t need to STOMP on other people to get it!

    GREED is the issue!

I’m not surprised at this hypocrisy. There are old women still working, plus getting their social security on top of that, going to demonstrate. If these Raging Grannies were sincere they would retire and let one of the young jobless protestors get a chance at their vacant jobs.

Sherry as your other liberal buddies would say “move on”. Get over it this movement is a fraud. They were kicked out of Zuccotti Park and most places around the country. The party is almost over……MOVE ON.

    #1 YOU are the hypocrite.
If as you somehow know and told all of us that the point of OWS is to knock out greed then these guys in 700 dollar suites are greedy!!!!!
Even more hypocritical is that these phonies don’t camp out in front of Obama who is the highest spending president in history both on his own trips and spending OUR money the tax payers on non earners and non performers.
This snake dosen’t have a head and will die soon.

So, someone please explain to me how the protest helps. I have listened and read much in the media, and the goal of the OWS movement remains completely mysterious. It seems to be just a trend to demonstrate in public for things that sound nice and against something nonspecific.

My problem with it all is that this just creates expenses for tax dollars and accomplishes absolutely nothing. It is as bad as floods, hurricanes, and tsunamis. Just destroys, and drains public monies to restore.

This is oh so typical with liberals, democrats, socialists, communists, etc. They talk the talk for others to do to but when it comes to them walking the walk, the elitist in them can’t be like the lowly commoner.

ows is against people getting ahead. They want the government to supply everything, jobs, housing, education, food, health insurance and what about tomorrow. In such as system people don’t produce and move the country ahead. Look at Russia and Red China. Even today Red China is trying to steal America’s Know How. Red China knows in order to move the country ahead you have to give people rewards [read money] for there ideas. The wall street scandal was in a big part of Fannie and Freddies doing which goes back to Clinton. Given houses to people who could not afford them.

    Sherry,
No stores were robbed? Really?!? Did you miss the stories that were printed on this – even on VIN? And how about the theft of using anothers property (restrooms, etc) without permission?

Sherry above is correct that the Tea Party is a fascist movement. That is true. And of course OWS is indeed an Anarchist movement which is egged on by the Socialists. Welcome to the modern era.

If they want to spend money on a hotel, that is all good and fine. But they are still anarchists as they are in the streets of our commerce districts.

Doesn’t anyone else out there see the evil of a march in the commerce district? Its like holding back a truck of eggs from going to market. Makes no sense.
Why not protest at the farm instead and go to DC or a state capitol and petition the legislators.
    This is true ignorance.
