Starting pay for Nassau recruits is $34,000, well above the NYPD’s $25,100. And Nassau’s top base pay is $91,737 after six years, compared with the $59,588 New York cops make after 5-1/2 years – which is less than the $64,865 Suffolk officers make after one year. [nydailynews]
