Brooklyn, NY – A Brooklyn third-grader fell through a metal grate in his school’s playground yesterday, tumbling 6 feet to the concrete below, school officials said.

The 9-year-old boy, whose name was not released, was able to walk away from the terrifying accident with only a gash in his head that required three stitches.

But the mishap at Public School 206 in Sheepshead Bay frightened parents, who demanded that school officials make sure it doesn’t happen again.
