    New York, NY – Amid calls that he should step aside while facing a federal investigation into his campaign fund-raising operation, New York City’s chief financial officer says he plans to stay on the job.

    Comptroller John Liu has said that he is embarrassed by the inquiry, but on Tuesday said he’ll continue to act as the city’s financial watchdog.

    “We haven’t missed a beat. We’ll continue to audit city agencies vigorously, looking for waste of taxpayer money,” said Liu after an appearance at the headquarters of DC 37, the city’s largest municipal union on Tuesday.

    I have no idea if the guy is innocent or guilty, what I do know is that politicians never resign unless they are physically pushed out of their office.
