Deputy Controller Simcha Felder, his top Jewish aide, has met with Republican state Senate leaders to discuss running for a super “Jewish district” that is expected to be drawn up in Brooklyn, sources said.

“This is a very serious option,” said a source familiar with the talks.

“It’s being discussed,” added a political source close to Felder.

The idea was broached by state Senate Majority Leader Dean Skelos, the insiders said. At the meeting, Felder indicated he’d be willing to change parties if the seat was created under the state’s divisive redistricting plan.

A state task force is drawing up new political boundaries to be voted on by the Legislature.

#1 cause the Republicans want to make sure they keep the majority in the Senate.

#2 we need Simcha back to represent us. Fact is 8 years when he was Councilman the Mayor and Speaker restored the after school vouchers every year. Simcha delivered to the community without any fanfare.

We all need Simcha was his campaign slogan and now more then ever we need Simcha back.

Perhaps Felder recognizes the innate corruption & hypocrisy that is the Democrat party. On the other hand, perhaps it’s the innate desire for power that fuels this change. Hey, if you can’t make it as a Dem, go Republican. It’s just a job, right?

Simcha is a good hearted guy. Anything we can do as frum yidden to bring down the power of the DemocRATs is good news. We got Turner now lets show the White house that we wont stand for their hatred of Jews. Every bochur and yungerman over 18 must register to vote and vote Republican. Our city and country has gone down moraly and financialy enough because of the DemocRATic influence. TIME TO CHANGE.

this is why no self respecting conservative should be registered as a republican, because they have as much conservatism as the democrat party.
People, there is a very powerful NY Conservative Party that wants jewish, especially Orthodox, members. they more or less control the courts, and no republican can truly get elected without them.

This party loyalty garbage is childish. About as brilliant as being a sports fan for a single team. If he can deliver good representation in government, who cares which “party” he represents? I’m more interested in his votes on the issues than his party affiliation. Doesn’t that make sense?

Jewish District? Is this like Jewish Ghetto? Is anyone who will vote Republican?

I am scared about having such a “Jewish District”. Reminds me of the whole idea of ghettos. Plus, if anything bad would happen within these boundaries, you can be sure that the news media will refer to it as such.

During one of the elections in Israel, the Beis Yisroel (Gerer Rebbe) said that it was a mitzvah to vote. The Satmar Rebbe (Divrei Yoel) was visiting Israel at that time. He met with the Beis Yisroel and asked about this mitzvah of voting. The Beis Yisroel answered that it was a mitzvah like eating Maror.

Boro Park has now 5 State Senators and us Yiden have no power in removing a candidate that doesn’t represent us in Albany, we have no power by electing one we want, so I don’t see what the issue is of creating a district that we the voters will be able to decide who should represent us.

Simcha Felder during his Council years did a lot for the community and I think he will be the right representative in Albany fighting for his constituents. Simcha had an excellent relationship with the Mayor and it benefited the community as #3 mentioned the after School vouchers were always restored in the budget during his times.
I’m sure if we look on his record we will see a lot of good things he did for us during that time.

Simcha if you read this, I hope you make the right decision and run for this seat. We need you.

We need Simcha now more than ever! The fact is Simcha delivered for his district and community. Plus, we should ensure the Senate is controlled by Republicans to keep a check on the extremely liberal State Assembly led by the Big Unions and also by Shelly Silver.

    Go Simcha!
