Czech Republic – A collector of World War II memorabilia has been ordered to remove a replica of an infamous Auschwitz sign from his garden.

The man had decorated a gate with the banner reading Arbeit macht frei — Work sets you free.
Town hall officials have told the owner, a historian from Rychvald, Czech Republic, to take down the sign following hundreds of complaints.
Mayor Ladislav Sitko said: “I don’t normally tell people what they can and can’t do in their own gardens. But many people see this as an insult to the people who died there.
“Lots of people have house name plates, but this is on another level.”
He also told a Czech newspaper: “This borders on promoting fascism.”
