A New Jersey man has created an ATM that gives you the option of letting advertisers cover the surcharge.

The ad will play during the time the screen’s message indicates a transaction is processing, which usually takes typically 10 second or less.

Customers can also choose not to view the ad and pay a $3 fee.

Right now, the first and only such ATM can be found in Brooklyn.

It’s a great idea for local advertisers like a pizza shop that’s a block away.

If I was a local merchant I’d pay 3$ for the ad

The mathematics don’t add up. Advertisers don’t pay those kind of hefty views per view.

I’m sure the advertisers are NOT paying $3 per showing. There is certainly an agreement in place based on the total number of times a commercial is played.

Doesn’t smell right. Soon they will be asking for your email address and you’ll start getting spam for the rest of your life, or some other gimmick that will make it worth their while.
