Hopes fade for dozens buried in Philippines quake

Filipino relatives wait for the bodies of their loved ones being found at the foot of a mountain which was hit by a landslide triggered by a 6.9-magnitude earthquake in La Libertad Town,  province of Negros Oriental, Central Philippines, 08 February 2012. Philippine President Benigno Aquino III visited a central province damaged by a 6.9-magnitude earthquake that triggered landslides, collapsed houses and killed at least 48 people. Aquino assured residents of Negros Oriental province, 570 kilometres south of Manila, that the government was working to restore power and water services damaged by quake. Rescuers were searching for more than 90 people reported missing after landslides in two villages in Guihulngan City and nearby La Libertad town.
