Muslim protesters clash with police in Jerusalem

Palestinians evacute a wounded man during clashes after a protest against additional security measures including metal detectors and extra video cameras at the Al-Aqsa Mosque at Qalandiya checkpoint near the West Bank city of Ramallah, 21 July 2017. A Palestinian teenager was killed during clashes in the occupied East Jerusalem neighborhood of Ras al-Amoud , Israel’s security cabinet decided not to dismantle the new security measures at the Al-Aqsa Mosque. Islamic authorities of the al-Aqsa Mosque compound, including the mufti of Jerusalem, called on Palestinian Muslims not to go through the electronic gates installed by the Israeli police and rejected all procedures that change the historic situation of the mosque. Israel authorities installed metal detectors at the entrance to the al-Aqsa compound after a shooting attack carried by Israeli Arab on 14 July against Israeli police at the al-Aqsa compound, killing two Israeli policemen and the three attackers.
