Stephanie Mack had vowed never to go back there after Mark Madoff’s December 2010 suicide.

But Mack says in the March issue of Harper’s Bazaar magazine that she took her two young children to the apartment to return “normalcy” to their lives.

Mack wrote a memoir, “The End of Normal: A Wife’s Anguish, A Widow’s New Life.”

She’s dropped Madoff from her name. She and Mark chose Mack by combining the M from Madoff with ACK, the airport code for Nantucket, where the couple married. They didn’t want their children to carry the Madoff name.

Bernie Madoff is serving 150 years in prison for a vast Ponzi scheme.

    Is she Jewish?

This is my first time posting after being an avid Vosizneias reader for a few years…
I felt like throwing up when i read the headline about Stephanie Mack throwing up over her husband’s suicide. I know Bernie Madoff (and allegedly his son – not know if he’s guilty) don’t necessarily deserve our rachmanus but for G-d’s sake let it rest – these are yesomim and she an almanah (no I’m not positive that she’s Jewish but Jews are compassionate people – regardless of religion) and I understand the urge to report every aspect of the case including the suicide…. BUT THIS???? This is traumatic enough for them – not every gruesome, embarrassing detail has to be reported in “our” media…let’s not forget that as embarrassed as we are about this maaseh – he’s still one of us and he’s dead now (G-d forgives).

just my opinion – have a great day!

I agree with #4 . This story should never have been reported. Also, Bernard Madoff’s wife should never have been allowed to keep $2,000,000. $1,000,000 would have been more than enough for her to have lived comfortably on, for the rest of her life. There are millions upon millions of American citizens who make ends meet, on far less.

She threw up when she saw his dead body? What about all the people who threw up when they lost their life’s savings from his father?

The father was a crook and that’s the end of it. forget about it already.

You all who complain about the publicity are right in regular circumstances
But in this case her herself writes it in her book and its her choice

It is amazing that you are concerned with”issue Jewish?” What difference does it make.If she is, then we can say “nebech” if sheisn’t then the hell with her. If that’s the way you look at the worth of a human being who is grieving, then I say “nebech” for you because you have nothing better to do with your time.the creator of the Universe created us all. Go spend your time worrying about something that will make a difference in you life!
