Jerusalem – Rabbi Yosef: Don’t Attack Iran, G-d Will Send Ahmadinejad To Hell

    11

Jerusalem – “Don’t Attack Iran,” former Chief Rabbi Ovadia Yosef said in his weekly Torah lecture broadcast on Israel radio every Saturday night. “Learn Torah, and G-d will save the People of Israel” and send Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad to hell, he declared.

“In every generation, there are those who try to destroy us, and HaShem (G-d) saves us” Rabbi Yosef said. “Now there is a tyrant in Iran, perhaps a reincarnation of Haman,” he continued. “We have no one to rely on except our G-d in Heaven.”

The rabbi clearly is not depending on President Barack Obama, whose name he did not even mention. Rabbi Yosef pointed out that there never before have been so many Jews studying Torah and reiterated that HaShem will fight for Israel.

How can the Rabbi say this with a straight face?
During the Holocaust, weren’t Jews praying just as the Rabbi suggests?
We need prayer, but we ALSO NEED TO BE PRO-ACTIVE !
Would the Rabbi suggest that we should only pray when we get sick? There’d be an awful lot of unemployed doctors then ! And we’d be dead !

well then I think he would agree to dissolve the IDF since HaShem will fight for Israel.

that it no more draft for anybody.

Interesting in the Torah did the Jews fight got to war or did they just sit and learn and said HaShem will fight for Israel.

of course HALACHA says otherwise, it says HABAH LEHARGACH HASHKEM L”HORGO,when someone comes to slay you,it is our obligation and duty to kill him first,it DOES NOT not say,go sit and learn or say TEHILIM or start praying, no- it says KILL HIM FIRST,
We all know and realize that should the IDF for some reason put down their arms for just 3 hours, every man woman and child would be floating in the mediteranian after having their throat’s slashed, and no amount of praying or saying TEHILIM would help, even rabbi Josef knows that,it certainly did not help during the holocaust,or during the last 1800 bloody years of pogroms, expulsions, massacres, forced conversions, etc.etc.
Yes praying and learning TORAH is very important and it helps, but only in conjunction with going out and defending yourself and killing your enemy, our sad and bloody history of the last 1900 years has proven without a doubt, that praying without fighting back,DOES NOT HELP, and the last 64 years of MEDINAS YISROEL has proven that praying and fighting DOES HELP.
Therefore the statement of this esteemed rabbi,is nothing but cheap demagoguery

HaChacham Ovadia can perhaps explain why He didn´t fight WWII to save the millions or why he didn´t fight the pogroms of 1648 when the Kosacks slaughtered Jews en masse? HaShem will never help you if you don´t do what ever you can to help yourself! Judaism is not an insurance business where Torah lernen is the payment or the insurance and then He will do the work for you.

Rav Yosef did not say that Israel should not defend herself if attacked, chas v’shalom.

Ahmadinejad’s psychotic jihadist mentality will sooner or later spark a military conflict with the western nations who depend on the flow of Persian Gulf oil. Perhaps the Rav is hinting that the western nations will find good reason to eliminate Ahmadinejad’s regime without Israel having to do the job.

You all are very smart and logical, but have no idea about your own history.

    First, there is a God.

Yes, even though there was a holocost, and even though doing nothing didn’t work for the past 2000 years.

Second, the Rabbi is not quoting his own logic but that of those who are a lot smarter then all of us chachomim nivoynim:

    דּוֹם, לַיהוָה וְהִתְחוֹלֵל-לוֹ
    וְעוֹד מְעַט, וְאֵין רָשָׁע; וְהִתְבּוֹנַנְתָּ עַל-מְקוֹמוֹ וְאֵינֶנּוּ.
    (Tehillim 37)
