Fallsburg – Route 42 was shut down for about a hour Sunday night after someone thought they saw a person collapse and slip under a guardrail on the Neversink River bank.
At about 10 p.m., a woman reported to Fallsburg police that she had passed someone walking on Route 42. When she checked in her rearview mirror, she thought she saw the person fall, slip under the rail and down the bank.
Fallsburg police and firefighters, EMTs from Hatzalah and Fallsburg’s police dog, Chase, responded and shut down Route 42 to search for the person. After an hour of looking, police said they hadn’t found anyone, and they concluded that there was no one in need of rescue.
The lady that called Hatzolah was lying or day dreaming.
