The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) announced a new TSA PreCheck lane system at the airport today, allowing for an expedited screening process for travelers who volunteer more information about themselves. The system is currently in operation in nine airports throughout the United States; the TSA hopes to have the 35 busiest airports in the country utilizing the PreCheck lane system by the end of 2012. TSA officials demonstrated the new TSA Pre✓ lane JFK on Wednesday.

If a traveler has signed up for the program, he or she may be referred to an expedited lane which could include no longer removing shoes, laptop from bag, light outerwear or jacket, belt, or 3-1-1 compliant bag from carry-on. However, the TSA will continue to use random additional screening, so expedited boarding is not guaranteed.

JFK is the ninth airport in the United States to implement TSA Pre✓.

The program is a partnership with Customs and Border Protection, American Airlines, and Delta Air Lines.

Another nice little perk for the rich. The rest of us get pelvic exams and mammographic lump screening at the hands of the Theater of Security Agency

FYI, at JFK it’s only available for American Airlines. Not yet for Delta
I just got approved and am so excited. But truth is, it’ll make flying just like it used to be 5 yrs ago

#2, don’t be jealous! You don’t have to be rich. The application only costs $100
And even if you don’t want to spend $100, look at the bright side, the ppl that weren’t cheaP and decided to bounce the $100, won’t have to be in front of u in line. So your line will be shorter
