Connye Osbon released her statement Sunday through the airline, asking media to respect the family’s privacy.

Pilot Clayton Osbon became increasingly incoherent on a Tuesday flight from New York to Las Vegas. Co-pilot Jason Dowd locked him out of the cockpit and he was restrained by passengers. The plane landed in Texas.

Connye Osbon thanks the crew and passengers for the “effective yet compassionate handling of the situation.” She says the family believed Osbon wasn’t intentionally trying to be violent.

JetBlue said Friday that the crew also was declining to speak publicly about the event.

I’m sorry Mrs. Osborn but your and Jet Blue’s attempt to sweep what could have turned out to be another 9-11 C’V under the rug won’t fly. Your husband is not a nobody who works at a desk, but a jet passenger pilot. The public has every right to know what caused your husband’s dangereous behavior. We need to prevent future Pilot Osborn’s and the only way to do that is to find out EXACTLY what caused your husband’s bizzare behavior. Not a case for privacy.

Oh please,, stop with that drama and focus on the point. His wife is doing her part and being supportive of her hubby fine I get that. What I don’t get is that Jet Blue had a plane full of passengers climbing at around 34,000 ft high, and something like this happens, what kind of crew not talking non-sence is that?? Jet Blue owes to the passengers and the world who fly the truth, and to prove that they do everything to avoid this happining ever again.

The pilot obviously had an emotional meltdown which the crew handled more than appropriately. Once the pilot is diagnosed there will probably be some kind of statement and explanation. Until that time there is nothing that Jetblue spokespeople can say. Any passenger on the plane can give their own interview if they feel they were in any kind of danger. The fact that no one has come forward to do so in itself speaks volumes. It says loud and clear that there is nothing to talk about since it was nothing more than a human being having a medical issue which was handled appropriately and that at no point was anyone in danger. Had there not been another pilot on board, I am sure the co-pilot would have been just as capable of landing the plane on his own, that is what they are trained for.

Let’s focus on the real areas we should be making a fuss, such as true dangerous and hazardous conditions such as protecting molesters.

I feel badly for the pilot’s family. I also understand why JetBlue is quiet until all the information is in so that we can accurately understand what happened here. The crew and passengers were amazing. However, this being said, since this is not the first meltdown that JetBlue has had, there must be something going on there. And THAT, my friends, is more important that all the gossip and speculation. I hope the pilot gets better and can go on with his life. I am sure no other airline will ever hire him and I guess he will have to look for another form of livlihood.
