U.S. District Court Judge Thomas Varlan sentenced 63-year-old Glendon Llewellyn Swift of Lenoir City on Tuesday.

The FBI said in an affidavit that Swift left two messages at the Republican congressman’s suburban Richmond, Va., office the evening of Oct. 27, 2011, threatening to “destroy” Cantor, rape his daughter and kill his wife.

The Knoxville News Sentinel (http://bit.ly/HZtKjP) reported Swift’s lawyer told the judge his client was drunk and grieving the death of his wife when the calls were made.

When the FBI came to Swift’s home days later, he admitted making the calls.

Varlan ordered Swift to undergo alcohol abuse and mental health treatment.

Good! Lock him up! Set the example!

It’s not just the right-wing crazies that drive me nuts! Left-wing crazies don’t do ANYTHING GOOD for the Democratic Party either!

They all make rational folks look bad!

But even more importantly…Eric Cantor has a family that loves & cares for him! And look at what happened to poor, sweet Gabby Giffords!

Even though I don’t agree a lick w\Eric Cantor when it comes to his political philosophy or ideals… I certainly wouldn’t want to see him get hurt either! Or his wife, kids, parents, etc.

We’ve got to QUIT making excuses for these nut jobs, no matter what party they come from! Period.

Shame on anyone who makes excuses for these whackos, cracks jokes about the victims of the threats or hopes the threats are actually carried out! (ie: Like when people wish ill on the President, for example, or hoping people’s assassination plots are fruitful.)

G-d forbid the SAME should befall on any of our OWN families, when we have this mindset.

And it’s not just the threatening or dangerous people we need to think twice about supporting: what about the people in the media, or heck, even if some of our own family members or friends who TALK this way?? Or who encourage the threatening or violent behavior, through their crazy rhetoric?! Foul language?! Dirty jokesN! Or even those who have inappropriate & hostile demeanors towards our civil servants?!

I’ve most definitly made changes in what kind of liberal news organizations or political commentators I *used* to listen to, for these very reasons! As religious people & people who represent G-d to others around us…what must they think when they see some of us supporting these kinds of people on the media or elsewhere??

We’ve got to QUIT making excuses for the people who egg these nutcases on! All it takes is ONE lone nutcase to change someone’s entire life.

I’m GLAD this man will be locked up for 13 months…but I can’t help but wonder: how many OTHER crazies are still left out there, roaming our streets, just about to have a complete melt-down & ready to shoot?!
