Registered nurse Michael Sabo sheepishly admitted that he took advantage of a boy, starting in 2001, when the child was five years old.

Sabo pleaded guilty as jury selection was set to start in a criminal trial that could have put him behind bars for hundreds of years. Both of his young victims were set to testify against him.

The 38-year-old creep was busted in 2010 when authorities found hundreds of revolting kiddie porn images on his home computer.

Sabo’s perversion became exposed when a rabbi tracked down the family of the boy, whose image had ended up on a vile Russian kiddie porn website.

The boy was tied up but clothed in the photo, which showed Sabo’s hand and his home in the background. Authorities then found the filth on Sabo’s computer, which included raunchy videos, images of naked children downloaded from the Internet and shots of the deviant dad in the nude.

Defense lawyer, Jeffrey Schwartz pleaded for mercy before Judge Vincent DelGiudice, saying, “One can argue that he is a victim,” because of abuse Sabo may have suffered as a kid.

“There’s a lot of sadness on both sides,” Schwartz said.

Sabo initially faced other charges that were dismissed because the family of a third alleged victim did not want the child to testify against him.

While the things that this man did are reprehensible, it is not the job of any credible news source to judge and use adjectives the way this journalist did. The journalists job is to report the facts, if we want to call this person names, that is on us, not the journalist.
I firmly believe this man is a sicko and a pervert, however, it is not the job of VIN to write that.

NY post journalist used the term “sicko”, not VIN. But you are correct, a professional journalist is only supposed to report a story, not involve his own emotions into his piece. But the guy was definitely a sicko.

If the word ‘sicko’ goes, I think the word ‘orthodox’ should also go. However, if you take out all the salt and pepper, you’re left with ‘Man commits crime’. The journalist is allowed to express his opinion. It’s called Freedom of the Press, and it’s in the Bill of Rights. Welcome to the USA.

Very sad story, and unfortunately him going to prison, doesn’t make it any less sad.

We all know what he is, so why make a argument about the reporter when he calls him by his name.

Btw, we are getting used to this type of news, seems like we’ll have one per month.

let’s not get stuck on the verbiage of the writer. this is such a tragedy.

He has a family and we should feel mercy for him. What about his wife and kids? They are victims too! Sabo was abused in his Yeshiva growing up and this is all he has ever known.

This lawyer should get an award for excellent use of weasel words!
“One can argue that he is a victim,” because of abuse Sabo may have suffered as a kid.”
Its possibly impossible to cram any more non-committal statements and unsupported theories into one statement!

All these posts and all you have to comment on is the language used by the journalist. Hardly anyone has commented on the evil nature of the crime. As a grandmother & someone who has been extensively involved in pidyan shvuim for over 25 years, I am delighted this “sicko” is off the streets. No, I won’t do a thing to help him.

My sympathies are with his poor victims, their families, & his own family. My contempt for this low-life is deep. Let’s not get hung up on “here’s a Yid who had a bad life.” Many Yidden had terrible lives (try Holocaust survivors) but they don’t delve into these crimes. This man is a monster & deserves this punishment & more.

It’s about time we Frum Yidden stopped hiding behind our sheitels & streimlach & faced reality: evil exists in our community & we have to destroy it.

well what will anyone gain from this.Let him wear an anklet monitoring unit so he doesnt repeat this and put him to work so the victims can be compensated for the therapy and other things they will need to carry out a normal life.

In the frum unzureh world, b’siyata d’shmaya baruch hashem, we baruch hashem don’t use unprofessional wording rachmana litzlan, or extra unnecessary adjectives shumu shamayim. We baruch hashem stick to only important and relevant wording like when we baruch hashem refer to the world renowned posek hador maran rashkebehag harav hagaon shlita ad meah v’esrim b’ezras hashem.

When we read stuff on certain blogs and websites concerning those who are accused but not convicted, there is good reason to be repulsed. If the accused person did commit the crimes, then we all should feel the revulsion. But when it is still just an accusation, then the individual has rights, too. That is justice, both in halacha and secular law. This article reported about a conviction and sentence. The guy is guilty. He is also guilty of one the most immoral and heinous crimes, one who drags the kedusha of our communinty down, one who leaves a murder victim alive for a lifetime of suffering. I may choose different descriptive words here, but the name calling is warranted. And no sentence for such creeps is long enough. Yes, we can feel bad for the family of the perp, but that’s too bad. Molesters should be confined to along life of suffering. It is our misfortune that all we can do is incarcerate them.

I know this person well (or at least I thought I did) and was shocked to my core when I found this story out. I truelly understand the need to advertise these stories so we can be more vigilant with our children and not trust everyone just because they seem like nice, normal people. (I don’t trust anybody anymore) However, I am appalled that a frum website can give so much information, espescially the full name, when they are fully aware that his children, who are in local yeshivos, will suffer even more as a result.

He was found out in 2010 . Why did it take two years for the family of the boy to find out that this happened to their son? How did the rabbi know these images of the boy were on the computer? Did the authorities investigate the other pictures on this person’s computer and try to discover who the pictures were and try to inform their parents? Why weren’t authorities investigating the website where the picture was?
