New York – Despite a weather forecast for tomorrow night which includes the possibilities of rain showers and or thunderstorms, Agudath Israel of America has confirmed that the Siyum Hashas will go on tomorrow night as planned.

Rabbi Shlomo Gertzulin told VIN News that an exception will be made to previously announced security restrictions and umbrellas will be permitted in the stadium and suggested that Siyum attendees bring along small towels to use in the event of inclement weather. The public is also being asked to allow extra travel time for their commute to MetLife Stadium tomorrow due to the expected heavy traffic in the area.
While extremely tight security will be in effect for the Siyum Hashas, Agudah representatives stressed that the event will be both a momentous and a joyous occasion. Participants are requested to do their utmost to make a Kiddush Hashem at this one of a kind event, which will be the subject of significant attention from both the Jewish and the secular media.
If Viznitzer of Monsey relents, maybe the rain will wait til Fri night as in Gishmei Bracha. Ein kli machzik bracha k’mo hashalom!
I’m not sure the forecast is a real problem anyways, because the Chinese already developed cloud-dispersal technology.
This special technique was in fact developed for the 2008 Olympics held in Beijing by firing chemical-infused rockets at storm clouds, forcing them to fall down before the event was set to begin. In the state-run China Daily’s words “We will use catalytic agents to force the rain clouds over the National Stadium to burst prior to the opening ceremony.”
So I’m sure we can rest assured that the organizers have made all the proper arrangements..
I just think that we should have a few copies of the Shas with Chinese translation to accommodate our brethren from the East… 🙂
Didnt the Vichinitzer Rebbe say NOT to go because Rabbi Lau is speaking and because of a video of Shottenstein ??
I’m sure it will be a success. And as far as the chilul hashem is concerned, since many chasidish rebbes “outlawed” this terrible occasion, there shouldn’t be a problem.
Good luck to the organisers and all the participants. May it be a safe and happy event. Study is one the things that has kept the Jewish people going through 3,500 years of trials and tribulations. People like gathering together in positive, spiritually uplifting, co-operative events like this upcoming one at MetLife Stadium. Hope the rain holds off.
P.S. Rabbi Ovadiah was mobbed like a pop star at a similar event today in Jerusalem.
This will be one huge, humongous kiddish Hashem !
Of course it’s on as there is way too much money at stake. The only time that you can cancel it even if there is money at stake is if it is a Lipa concert.
Hatzlacha on this amazing event!
In haaretz they are worried as it is the biggest jewish event ever, & its not reform, zionist or liberal!

If there is a thunderstorm it will definately be because NY State passed the gay marriage act.
