More than 90,000 people are expected to gather Wednesday night at MetLife Stadium to attend a celebration of the completion of daily reading and study of the Talmud, the book of Jewish law and tradition. Large crowds began arriving Wednesday afternoon and continued filling the stadium as dusk fell, delaying the event’s start time to 8 p.m.

State Police Superintendent Col. Rick Fuentes says roughly 600 state police and members of 71 agencies are working the event in East Rutherford.

Fuentes said troopers completed an eight-hour course where they were familiarized with the stadium and learned about Jewish customs.

The law enforcement agents, state troopers and stadium workers were all extremely helpful, professional, courteous, polite and respectful. They were were really friendly and nice. And we returned the feelings- it was such a kiddush HaShem as i was observing thousands of jews exiting the stadium at about 1 am- and almost every jew was sayin “thank you…..have a good night” to almost each and every state trooper, police agent and stadium worker. the atmosphere was one of real mutual respect. i think we made a huge kiddush HaShem. (we definitely tried!! and its not like anyone said in any of the speeches- “be polite” its common knowledge amongst jews to make a kiddush HaShem- it was beautiful to see.- i would dare to say that after a baseball game or similar- i dont think you wwould see close to 90,000 men, women, children pasing each security agent saying “thank you so much…….” maybe yes , maybe no….but surely we can feel proud for now. mi keamcha yisrael!!!
