Roman Iskhakov, 26, stole items ranging from silver Torah crowns and wine glasses to cash in the burglaries and then sold the items to pawn shops, according to Queens District Attorney Richard A. Brown.
“The defendant is accused of being a one-man crime wave and brazenly breaking into houses of worship and stealing precious religious items,” Brown said in a statement.

it hurts to see it. very sad
Nebach…is he wearing a yarmulka on his head? He must have been very desperate! 🙁
Unfortunately, our generation is so badly lacking in yiras Hashem, that wearing a yarmulka hardly stops us from doing aveiros.
Case in point: Did you ever see someone take off his yarmulka before speaking lashon hora?
He should have stolen the surveillance cameras first.
Amazing—the young man who was caught with a $10,000 menorah evoked no sympathy, no nebach. But this guy who did the same darn thing –maybe worse cause it was in a shul– and gets a nebach??? They both hurt to see and they are both nebach if our own is stealing from our own
At least this shul and rabbi went after this ganoff.
I know of other shuls that would have kept it quiet.
isn’t this the same person?
