The Public Service Commission says 901,000 homes and businesses around the state — about 47 percent of all customers — are without power Thursday.

In neighboring Mississippi, utility companies say they are working to restore power to more than 150,000 customers in south and central parts of the state.

Isaac’s center bypassed New Orleans and its newly fortified levees as a hurricane Wednesday but flooded areas to the city’s north and south, where people had to be evacuated or rescued. It weakened slightly to a tropical storm but was still packing strong winds and torrential rain as it moves slowly across Louisiana.

And Romney and his men are partying in Florida while black people are drowning in Louisiana. What a disgrace!

What a stupid liberal comment. The same dumb comment that got a Yahoo! exec fired. So they should call off the convention (which is anyways a political gathering, not a “party”) because Hashem sent a storm elsewhere in the country?

Of course, the DNC would do no such thing if, say, a hurricane was wreaking havoc on conservative voters in New Hampshire.

    What a disgrace!

To #1 -ShmuelG- Next week, the Democrats will be having their convention in Charlotte, and people who were displaced from their homes in Lousiana, and Mississipi, will still be suffering. However, I seriously doubt if you would post a similar snide remark about the Democrats, as you did about the Republicans. Incidentally, people of ALL races are suffering, because of the storm!

Political conventions do not stop for tragedy. they should acknowledge suffering and then carry on with the business of the nation.
