Sullivan County, NY – Monticello police were called to the Fialkoff’s bungalow colony on Waverly Avenue on Sunday evening after two men reportedly tried to run down Hasidic customers who were standing in the parking lot of a Jewish-owned bakery, according to the Times-Herald Record (http://bit.ly/Q1FT1Z).

Esai Diaz, 21, and Brandon Morales, 20 steered their vehicle in the direction of those assembled with the intention of hitting them. Morales, seated in the passenger seat, allegedly yelled, “Go home, go back to your (expletive) Jews.” Diaz then drove off, but returned again to the parking lot. Morales then exited the vehicle and punched a man in the arm. The duo attempted to flee, but the car would not start, forcing the pair to escape on foot while the customers chased after them. The police apprehended Diaz and Morales shortly thereafter.
Police have not yet concluded what caused the incident. Diaz, who already has eight active suspensions on his license, was charged with felony reckless endangerment and misdemeanor aggravated unlicensed operation, while Morales was charged with felony aggravated harassment and another harassment violation.
The two are being held at the Sullivan County Jail on $2,500 bail.

This report doesn’t surprise me; years ago, while traveling in a midwestern state on business, an occupant of the car I was in stated that they just observed the car in back of us deliberately try to run over an Amish man, who was walking on the side of the highway. There is no doubt in my mind that the lowlifes in the car in back of us, would have done it to us, also. In addition, I can’t understand the naivete of some of the commentators. There are people who are driving cars with several drunk driving convictions on their records, as well as people driving with suspended licenses, and with no licenses, insuranve, or even valid registrations. Therefore, nobody should be surprised at these two Hispanic “gentlemen”, driving with multiple suspensions. There are many criminals driving, as well as many mentally disturbed individuals on the road!

Spent the summer at that colony. That corner is scary even when someone is not trying to kill you. The yidden had real hashgacha pratis here. The driver should get the key thrown away for a hate crime with attempted murder.
