Ramallah, West Bank – The Palestinians are criticizing the U.S. Democratic Party’s decision to declare Jerusalem as the Israeli capital.

The Democrats on Wednesday restored language in the platform saying Jerusalem “is and will remain the capital of Israel.” A day earlier, the language had been removed from the platform, prompting Republicans to question President Barack Obama’s support for Israel.
The language is at odds with U.S. policy calling for the status of Jerusalem to be resolved through negotiations. Both Israel and the Palestinians claim east Jerusalem.
Nabil Abu Rdeneh, an aide to Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, said Thursday the Democrat’s decision might just be “election propoganda.” He said a failure to recognize the Palestinian claim to east Jerusalem will “destroy the peace process” and lead to “endless war.”
Israeli officials declined comment.
Its all a lot huey about nothing. Heres a reality check: No US President is ever going to move the Embassy to Jerusalem or come out with a statement saying
“Jerusalem is Israel’s capital”. Not Mr. Obama, not Mr. Romney. The reason
is because, if they did such a thing, people would *die*. There would be
riots across the Moslem world –our embassies would be attacked.
There would probably be some fatalities. Nobody wants that. So instead
they just continue to play the same old “to be negotiated” game. And
this aint never going to change, no matter who is president.
The Democrats should move to Gaza. Israel and its capital Jerusalem were given to the Jews by the Almig-hty G-D – isn’t that the theme of the REPUBLICANS – all about G-D given rights.

I can imagine the scene at Palestinian Authority headquarters in Ramallah. First they were jumping for joy, then they were confused, and now they are hopping mad.
We all know that the Democrats are trying to scrape together every possible vote come November (just as the Republicans are doing), but antics such as these just make the entire American election process a laughing stock for the rest of the world.
