New York – A major security breach at JFK Airport caused a terror scare yesterday just as Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was scheduled to depart for his flight back to Israel. Trespassers were spotted on the west side of the airport in an area called Hamilton Beach, a location which is off-limits to all but airport personnel.

The New York Post reports (http://bit.ly/SQdEUJ) that an alert was issued at 9 p.m., triggering a massive hunt for the perpetrators by air and water officials, as well as by the NYPD and the Port Authority. But within an hour, law-enforcement officials concluded that the suspected terrorists were a group of four fishermen who had taken their boat out into the restricted area, coming within just a half mile of Netanyahu’s plane.
Sources told the Post that had the fishermen actually been terrorists, they were close enough in proximity to the plane to inflict serious damage. “It’s another major breach of security,” remarked one source. “Luckily they were only fishermen and not terrorists.”
The fishermen were not identified, but were charged with trespassing.
If the Shin Bet and or Mossad are so concerned about this apparent security breach, why don’t they arrange for Netanyahu’s plane to land at McGuire Air Force Base, in New Jersey, which is about 60 miles south of New York City. From there, he could be taken to NYC by helicopter. Surely, the security at McGuire is much better than at JFK.
