The minister, Carlos Romero, told reporters Tuesday that those arrested included the judge who first ordered American Jacob Ostreicher jailed and officials working in the state agency that seized 18,000 metric tons of rice from him.

The first suspect was arrested Monday.

Ostreicher has been jailed without charge since June 2011. Prosecutors have yet to produce no evidence he laundered money in a rice-growing venture in which he and a Swiss partner invested $25 million.

He says several of the officials now under arrest tried to extort money from him in return for promises to get him out of jail.

So first they killed him, broke him down, got him sick and now they all of a sudden realize that the government was a fraud in the first place.

Sounds almost as bad as the American Justice system.

NEVER ever trust any governmet in the world, not even ours. Take a look at something as little as Hurricane Sandy. The government was a total no show the entire time except to hold news conferences. In Far Rockaway and SeaGgate it was all about our community helping otherwise nothing was done.

Hope this shows you a bit how goverments work

I hope we all take a lesson how to keep our mouth SHUT…i had numerous conversations about Ostreicher with friends and all said Yeah he knew what he was doing and he shouldnt of gone to Bolivia..The facts and the truth teaches us again and again do NOT judge anyone till you know the facts…
The same goes to the person on trial now for molesting a yiddishe girl…The man is NOT guilty till proven guilty…We dont know all the corruption behind every case and we must learn once and for all AL TUDIN CHARCHU AD SHTAGIA LIMKOYMOY..
unfortunate that we always judge people by what we think is the truth…

To #8 -Chareidi Man- I don&#8 217;t mind telling you that your comment about the Government of the USA, is off the wall. This is the same Government that has accorded you freedom of worship, and other civil liberties, which you would not find in most governments throughout the world. Our Government is not perfect, but we do not have pre-trial detention in this country, as is the case in many countries. Regarding Sea Gate, and Far Rockaway, the residents cannot depend upon the Government to help them, as they must help themselves. While it is true that many homes were destroyed, and many homeowners did not have flood insurance, the situation was not as dire as the poor people in Sri Lanka, Thailand, Indonesia, and other countries, where over 250,000 people were killed in the Tsunami of 2004.

Don’t be fooled, corruption runs so deep there. Heads are rolling with fallacious indignation. They know that the whole world is unto them so they had to put on a show. Sure Ostreicher will be free soon b”H but without an apology.

You evoke righteous indignation, while speaking falsely and being Motzi Shem ra. He never stole a dime from anyone!
