Budapest – Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán has openly criticized radical nationalist Jobbik’s MP Márton Gyöngyösi for his inflammatory remarks last week before Parliament, calling Gyöngyösi’s statements “unworthy of Hungary” and pledging to protect Hungary’s Jews.

In a statement before Parliament today, Orbán said, “As long as I am in this post, no one in Hungary can be harmed because of their faith, convictions or origin. I would like to make it clear that . . . we, Hungarians will protect our Jewish compatriots.”
Orbán noted that “nothing or no one will derail Hungary from the democratic conviction.”
Gyöngyösi sparked a firestorm in Hungary when he said it was time “to assess … how many people of Jewish origin there are here, and especially in the Hungarian parliament and the Hungarian government, who represent a certain national security risk.” He also added that Hungary needed to be wary of “Zionist Israel and those serving it also from here.”
Approximately 550,000 Hungarian Jews were murdered in the Holocaust. An estimated 100,000 Jews currently reside in Hungary.
Jews should not be living anywhere in Eastern Europe, period. The earth in countries like Poland, Hungary, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia and others is soaked with Jewish blood. They should also not be living in Germany or France. Why they do so is a mystery. How could any Jew live in Germany with the history of that place?
Sounds familiar….
I think that happened several decades ago. Yeah, in the early 1940’s.
Hmmmm. Maybe we can trust them this time?
Naa. Bad idea
